VILLA CLARA

Villa Clara is the third magnificent restoration project undertaken by an exceptionally dedicated couple, who have devoted themselves to renovating and celebrating three remarkable estates across Italy, sparing no expense along the way. For their Roman endeavour, they enlisted the expertise of renowned hotelier Jacques Garcia, whose vision for Villa Clara drew on Art Deco themes, the zodiac, and the exuberance of precious stones and jewels. The result is a true feast for the eyes in every room — panels of amethyst, a gold and mosaic-lined dining room, a black marble breakfast room, and a gold-leaf stairwell leading up to the magnificent roof terrace are just a few of the property’s striking features. Fittingly for the aesthetic origins of Art Deco, an entire lower level has been dedicated to marble-finished Roman baths, complete with swimming pool, Hammam, fitness centre, and massage room.

Set in the exclusive Parioli neighbourhood of Rome, this Sebastiani-designed, five-level home dates back to 1929 and makes full use of its prestigious corner position at the top of Villa Borghese. Views over Borghese can be enjoyed from the private terrace, and of course from the rooftop terrace, which offers an open-plan living and dining area alongside a Jacuzzi — the perfect spot for a relaxing aperitivo after a day spent exploring the city.

Descending back through the villa, guests can marvel at the owners’ extensive collection of art and antiques, complemented throughout by geometric shapes and spaces, zoological motifs, dramatic ceiling detailing, and clever design touches that bring the modern and ancient together in surprisingly effective ways.
