Chalet Nyumba, meaning “home” in Swahili, is a luxury chalet in Verbier offering up to 14 guests an unforgettable, magical getaway. Spread across four floors and boasting magnificent views over the village alongside outstanding spa facilities, this chalet stands as one of the finest properties Verbier has to offer.
A true embodiment of alpine chic, Chalet Nyumba blends rustic charm with exquisite furnishings, combining African and alpine influences throughout. The main living space, featuring a double-height ceiling and expansive windows, offers stunning views across the valley from the comfort of the elegant lounge, complete with a beautiful stone fireplace — the perfect spot to unwind after a day skiing in the largest ski area entirely within Switzerland. The dining area, sharing the same breathtaking views, provides an enchanting setting to enjoy meals prepared by your own professional chef in the fully-equipped kitchen. Generous south-facing balconies and terraces offer further space to relax with an apéritif and soak in the scenery before retreating to the warmth of the chalet.
Chalet Nyumba is home to one of Verbier’s most extensive private spas. Beautifully finished in Italian marble, the space offers a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, plunge pool, sauna, Hammam, and massage room, leaving guests spoilt for choice. The pool itself features a counter-current function for swimming training, along with an adjustable depth floor that can be raised, lowered, or removed entirely to create extra space for leisure or exercise. An additional hot tub sits just outside on the terrace, while a spa bar area offers the perfect spot to relax in style with a drink in hand.
For evening entertainment, the ground floor houses a cosy cinema room with a projector screen, ideal for movie nights, along with a dedicated playroom for children and a pool table for older guests.
Chalet Nyumba sleeps up to 14 guests across seven luxurious bedrooms. The master suite, occupying the top floor, is the true highlight — blending alpine and African design with a striking stone fireplace, private balcony, and separate mezzanine office, alongside a magnificent marble en-suite bathroom with separate shower. Four further double or twin bedrooms offer en-suite or private bath/shower facilities, several with direct balcony or terrace access. A family bunk room, featuring a double bed and three single beds with its own en-suite bathroom, is ideal for families with younger children, while a twin room tucked in the eaves completes the collection of elegant suites.
The ground floor provides access to the garage and wine cave, where an extensive collection is available for purchase by the bottle. Guests have access to one internal and two external parking spaces, along with a dedicated ski room for equipment storage.
A portion of the holiday price supports the UK-registered Give a Future Foundation, which funds education projects for orphans and vulnerable children in Ethiopia.
Rates are based on exclusive use of the chalet for 12 guests and include full gourmet catering, an open bar, and 24-hour in-resort driver service. Travel is not included. Additional guests are charged at CHF 750 per person.
