Description
Set on Italy’s most beautiful and romantic lake, in the sought-after area of Tremezzina, this contemporary Lake Como villa is the result of a three-year renovation project, transforming a former shipyard originally built by the Cranchi family in 1922.
Surrounding some of Lake Como’s most glamorous villas are steep mountains with snow-capped peaks in the distance, alongside a scattering of colourful lakeside villages that together create the spectacular atmosphere this region is famed for the world over. The village of Griante, home to Breakwater Griante, offers a wealth of authentic Italian restaurants and enjoys, without question, some of the most beautiful panoramic views found anywhere on Lake Como.
Nearby, guests will find grand villas such as Villa Carlotta, renowned for its magnificent botanical gardens and art collection, and Villa Margherita, where the famous Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi once stayed while composing La Traviata.
Preserving the original architectural character of the historic shipyard, Breakwater Griante offers luxurious accommodation alongside a fully equipped gym and spa, a cinema and cigar room, and its own private motorboat, allowing guests to explore the lake at their own pace.
