Twisted oak-beamed ceilings, a partial moat, and a tower descending to an underground wine cellar all offer glimpses of a history dating back to the 12th century, throughout which this Maison de Maître has remained a central feature of village life in this lesser-discovered yet deeply historic region. Reconstructed following the ravages of the French Revolution, and more recently restored in its entirety, the property is now home to a French Michelin-starred chef, who owns and runs a local hotel and restaurant. Accommodation is spread across three floors, comprising three suites — each with two bedrooms — along with two further separate bedrooms, sleeping up to 16 guests in total. The property is furnished and equipped to a high standard throughout, and set within an acre of grounds, largely lawned, with shaded areas and a swimming pool. The property’s owner also maintains a rarely used apartment at one end of the building, with its own separate, independent access.

The village of Veyrac itself is within easy walking distance.
